THE HISTORY OF T. J. CLARK'S MINERALS
Often Imitated, Never Duplicated.®
T. J. Clark's Minerals were first developed in the early 1920s after
T. J. Clark, a rancher in Central Utah fell seriously ill. Doctors were
unable to diagnose his illness, and his condition became progressively
worse. Desperate to save his life, he allowed local Native Americans to
lead him to a secret spring, and drank from it. He continued drinking the
water until his illness disappeared. Amazed by his recovery, T.J. traced
the path of the stream back to its source in the mountains in an effort
to unlock the secrets of the mysterious water.
Researching the spring's path led Old Tom to the discovery of a rich
mineral deposit. Verified by the U.S. Department of the Interior as an
ancient rain forest approximately 100 million years old, it contains uniquely
preserved mineral compounds from plant sources. Tom's original discovery
still exists on his grandson Thomas "Tom" J. Clark's privately-owned Last
Chance Ranch.
Through research on his farm animals, T.J. found a variety of health
benefits which he attributed to the mineral compounds. He developed a leaching
process to extract the concentrated minerals into pure water. He began
passing out his mineral formula to his friends and neighbors. The feedback
that they provided, coupled with his personal experience with the minerals,
was the cornerstone of his research. Word of mouth spread the news of the
minerals across the country.
T. J. spent the rest of his life investigating the spring and mineral
beds and working with researchers. He came to discover that up to 70 of
the 94 naturally occurring elements were present in the spring and interacting
with each other in ways that are unknown even today. By the time he died,
T. J. had created the world's finest mineral formula. His legacy continued
through the work of his grandson, Tom, who is currently president and CEO
of T. J. Clark and Company.
Tom spent his early years apprenticing with his grandfather. The years
spent traipsing along with T.J. taught him valuable lessons in finding,
extracting and processing the minerals, and the importance of helping people.
Tom has continued his grandfather's scientific research in order to further
refine and enhance the legendary mineral formulas.
Today, Tom continues research into the electrical properties of the
minerals and the unique synergy created by the mineral complexes. It is
the complex interactions of the minerals over millions of years, combined
with a proprietary processing method that provides the active ingredients
in T. J. Clark's Minerals. Modern testing equipment is still unable to identify
the exact nature of the interactions of these compounds. However, testing
has verified that the original mineral deposit contains the necessary major
minerals and rare trace minerals that should be present in the human body
to maintain a healthy bio-electrical balance.
T. J. made history when he discovered that amazing mineral deposit in
Central Utah. Today, his mine is still owned and operated by T.J. Clark
& Co., which is owned by Tom Clark and his family. T.J. Clark &
Co., based in St. George, Utah, is recognized worldwide as the leader in
the liquid trace mineral industry. T. J. Clark & Co. is the leading
liquid trace mineral manufacturer with 75 years of research resulting in
consistent, safe and effective products. T. J. Clark's Minerals contain
up to 70 naturally occurring minerals in trace amounts.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are colloidal minerals?
A “colloid” is a particle substance that retains its identity and remains
in suspension. Colloids are very small in size and therefore easily absorbed
by the cells of the body. Plants convert metallic minerals into this form.
Dr. Cary Reams, a well known biophysicist and biochemist, discovered that
colloids can get so small they can go through glass. And even within these
plant colloids there can be a “solar system” of different minerals. Dr.
Reams maintains that the body requires 84 of the known 106 elements. Colloidal
biochemistry is a very neglected branch of science and much research has
yet to be done to determine the exact function of all the various elements.
Is it possible to test for particles that small?
With the standard testing method known as spectroscopy, results of testing
for such small particles are only approximate and vary from laboratory
to laboratory. To our knowledge there are only two super electron microscopes
in the country that could possible detect particles down to the size of
the very small colloids found in our product. There is no known method
of establishing the exact form they are in.
What about minerals that are generally considered to be toxic?
The colloidal minerals found in plants are not toxic. Quite the opposite,
they are very beneficial. Aluminum, for example, makes up about 30% of
the earth’s crust and in it’s metallic form it can be harmful. However,
aluminum is found in many foods but in a completely different form. According
to the Harvard Medical Newsletter it is the distinction between
these forms that is critical in any investigation. The same is true of
arsenic, iodine, lead, mercury and other mineral elements. In their colloidal
form they are actually needed by the body in trace amounts,
or microgram amounts. A microgram is one millionth of a gram.
Have the T. J. Clark minerals ever been tested?
The Clark colloidal plant-source minerals were tested in Germany by
Dr. Fritz-Albert Popp, a Nobel Prize nominee in biophysics. His tests revealed
that the product was not only completely non-toxic but actually increased
the life (electrical) energy output of cells beyond what had previously
been established as optimum. Dr. Popp congratulated us on the excellence
of our product.
Are T. J. Clark colloidal minerals different than other colloidal
minerals on the market?
Yes! Substantially different for several reasons. Number one, and probably
the most important difference is the source. The deposit that was discovered
in 1920 by Thomas Clark was determined to be the mineral remains of an
ancient rain forest. The U.S. Department of the Interior has determined
it to be from the Cretaceous Period, which would make it approximately
60 to 127 million years old. This is the period characterized by the development
of flowering plants and the disappearance of the dinosaur. A unique set
of circumstances preserved this portion of the forest under just 20 to
30 feet of sandstone, enough to protect the deposit but not enough to cause
the excessive heat and pressure that would have altered the form of the
minerals. What’s more, at the bottom of the deposit there is a very hard
bed of clay which allowed the minerals to collect and at the same time
prevented them from leaching through and simply disappearing. NO OTHER
DEPOSIT OF THIS NATURE HAS EVER BEEN FOUND ANYWHERE ELSE ON EARTH.
Another important difference is in our unique processing method. The
minerals are extracted, just the way nature does it, with pure, cool water.
Once the desired concentration is achieved the minerals are processed through
a complex array of special filters to allow only organic colloidal minerals
in the final solution. There are no preservatives, flavorings or synthetic
substances of any kind added.
At the present time the 75 year-old, T. J. Clark mine is the only one
of it’s kind ever discovered. NO ONE, no person or company other than T. J.
Clark, has mineral rights to this one-of-a-kind deposit. We realize that
there are some companies making false and misleading claims. If you have
any question about the authenticity of a product you may fax a label directly
to T.J.Clark & Co. (435) 634-0308 to verify authorization.
Are there any other important differences?
Yes, among them the fact that T. J. Clark colloidal minerals have a natural,
negative electrical charge. This has two very important benefits; one it
greatly enhances the transport and availability of other nutrients derived
from foods or other vitamin and mineral supplements, and two, it will attract
toxins and heavy metals from the body and help flush them out.
How long will the mineral supply last?
That of course, depends on the volume that we produce, which by the
way, has markedly increased. Our projection however, taking into account
the increased demand, is approximately two to three hundred years. Incidentally,
production facilities have recently been expanded to meet the growing demand.
There is an audio tape being widely circulated called, “Dead Doctors
Don’t Lie,” what source of minerals is Dr. Joel Wallach referring to on
that tape?
Dr. Wallach is referring to the T. J. Clark minerals. There are companies
who are either paying a royalty or are simply using the tape illegally
and they have edited out the portion where Dr. Wallach refers to the Clark
mine. All companies authorized to distribute product from the T. J. Clark
mine however, have been issued a certificate.
I’m confused about terms like “humic shale,” and “fulvic.” What
do they mean?
There is a great deal of confusion in the marketplace regarding not
only these terms but several others. Here’s what we’ve been able to determine:
Humic Shale – This is an interesting term. If we look at the
words individually we discover that humus is formed by the partial decomposition
of vegetable or animal matter. Shale is a fine-grained sedimentary rock
readily splitting into thin plates or layers. Since we have been unable
to discover what humic shale is, we assume it is a name coined in an attempt
to give credibility to some other product. T.J.Clark Minerals contain
neither humus nor shale.
Fulvic Acid – This a general term used to describe an organic
acid formed during composting or from the natural decay of vegetable or
animal matter. No one can say what the specific chemical composition of
fulvic acid is, therefore isolating it as a beneficial element in a mineral
formula is highly suspect.
Colloid – or “colloidal” as we have discussed elsewhere, simply
refers to particle size. According to Webster’s dictionary, a colloid is
“a substance made up of tiny, insoluble, non-diffusible particles that remain
suspended in a medium of a different matter.” Colloids are one of the many
important components of T. J. Clark minerals from T. J. Clark.
Ion – An ion is simply an atom or group of atoms which has either
an excess or a deficiency of electrons and is thus electrically charged.
Everything contains ions, including the air you breathe. Isolating an ion
exchange as in important ingredient in a mineral formula therefore, is
meaningless.
Chelate – A chemical compound in which the central atom, (usually
a metal ion) is attached to neighboring atoms by at least two bonds in
such a way as to form a ring. As a single component of any mineral formula,
chelates are not significant.
Are your minerals organic and non-metallic?
No. There is no such thing as an “organic mineral.” It may be complexed
with an organic compound but it’s selectively extracted from the soil and
made usable by plants and may have organic compounds associated with them.
Minerals themselves are not organic.
Why should I take mineral supplements?
Since the beginning of industrialized farming the nations farmers have
been using only three basic minerals to replenish the soil: nitrogen, potassium
and phosphorous. Without the addition of the full spectrum of minerals
every year a crop is grown the farmland’s natural resources are quickly
depleted. In many places these minerals no longer exist in the soil at
all. The essential major and trace minerals we need to maintain health
and prevent disease are now absent from our food. Nor is this a “new” phenomenon.
As far back as 1936 Readers Digest published an article detailing
the loss of essential minerals in the soil. Without the proper amount of
these minerals in your system, vitamin and other nutrient retention is
not possible. In addition to providing vital nutrients missing from today’s
soil, T. J. Clark minerals also have the ability to attract heavy metals
and other toxins, allowing them to be more easily flushed from the body.
You should take mineral supplements because minerals are in fact, essential
to the well being of the human body.
How often do I need to take minerals? How much should I take?
Because the body doesn’t naturally create minerals, you need to supplement
your diet with a small amount, (about 2 ounces) of T.J. Clark colloidal
minerals every day.
